Scuba in Bangladesh

KM Mujibur Rahman of Dhaka Diver’s club successfully crossed the BanglaChannel (Teknaf Sahapori dwip to St. Martins Island) in 4 hours 25 minutes (Start time: 1146 Local time, 9th March 2011). He has done it at a stretch without the help of any boat or other means.
The total length of the swimming was 14km in the Bay of Bengal.
It has been reported that two other swimmers also completed the swim in 4 hour 45 minutes and 5 hour 45 minutes respectively on the same day (9th March 2011)

Mr. Rahman express his gratitude to Tinku - the famous travel show director, Cameraman Rahat, Mr. Faruk Hossain of “Somudro Puri cottege”, fellow members Osman Goni Chandan and Rimon Khan for assisting him to achieve this feat.

KM Mujibur Rahman of Dhaka Divers Club will swim to cross the Bangla Channel on 9th March 2011. Mr. Rahman will start from Shah Porir Dwip at 10:30 am and swim towards St. Martins Island which is 14km away in the Bay of Bengal. We will update all with photos and stories after the swim.

We have started our journey from 2007 at Saint Martin’s Island, the countries only coral island.
Dhaka Divers Club is a non-profit outdoor sports organization mainly devoted to water sports such as Diving, swimming etc.
